Marina Albany Marina (Creek Village, New Providence District)

Things to do in New Providence District

New Providence is the most populous island in the Antilles and the Caribbean. The capital, Nassau contains more than 70% of the total population.

Nassau is the cultural and commercial center of the archipelago, as it hosts the commercial port Prince George, behind which the city has spread.

It has luxury marinas with an international airport only 13 kilometers away, and is located just 290 kilometers southeast of Florida, so it is ideally connected. Near the city of Nassau, Paradise Island is easily accessible with a boat (north of New Providence) or by road thanks to existence of two bridges. In Paradise Island the famous Atlantis resort is located, with all the luxuries you can imagine (from 5 star hotels to an impressive marina). It has a pleasant tropical monsoon climate (between 20 and 26 degrees) and typical colonial architecture, as can be seen in the house-museum Balcony house or Graycliff.

Moving from West Bay, in the heart of Nassau, begin the restaurants and shops. On December 26 and January 1 the famous costume parade, known as Junkanoo, is celebrated and it lasts all night. The beach lovers should not miss Long Wharf, with all possible activities available, just few minutes from the main port, in the center of Nassau. You can visit the surrounding islands with your own boat or by ferry from Prince George Wharf. In July the largest fishing tournament in the Bahamas takes place.
