Riva Ligure (Imperia, Liguria)

Things to do in Liguria

Liguria is a land of great mountains and beautiful hills, watered by the Mediterranean Sea. It has high coasts that are extending 300 kilometers along the famous Italian Riviera. In the west, large cliffs and rugged coastline can be seen from the boat, flanked with small and picturesque fishing villages such as Pietra Ligure. This Riviera covers the province of Savona with some of the most beautiful locations of Liguria, such as Finale Ligure, with its popular Finale Marina where you can moor your boat safely and enjoy great services. However, one of the most interesting areas on the west, for captains, is the Albenga, with a nature reserve that includes the beautiful Galliana Island. The western stretch is famous for its mild climate; perfect for the cultivation of flowers for the international flower market of San Remo. The town is also famous for its festival of Italian music.

The Riviera di Levante offers splendid nautical journey to the border with Tuscany. The capital of the Gulf of Genoa is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and you can moor in the beautiful port of Nervi or continue to Portofino, known for its exclusivity and where Lavagna, one of the biggest ports in the Mediterranean, is located.

Fort the lovers of history, culture and traditions, visiting the impressive medieval castle of Lerici is a must. Liguria has a beautiful sea, known as the "whale sanctuary" for the beautiful examples that can be found there and be spotted from the boat or through organized tours.
